The Best Essential Oils For The Last Days Of Summer

by Rasha Hisham |

Summer officially ends on September 23rd, which means there are only 26 days of summer left. This means it’s time to cram as many barbeques, road trips, beach days, and all around summer fun as you can.

We want you to enjoy the last days of summer as much as possible and we know the perfect essential oils that will help you do just that.

Given the amount of days of summer left, it’s very important to have the energy and focus to complete everything you would like to do. These are a few essential oils that have been known to help with energy levels and mental clarity. Simply add a few drops of them into your diffuser to enjoy their benefits.

Ginger Essential Oil

Ginger essential oil is a wonderful spice oil that is known for its warming effect. This has been found by many individuals to increase energy, confidence, and boost overall mood.

Rosemary Essential Oil

As amazing as rosemary is in cooking, it is also renowned for its ability to aid with focus and memory. Having increased focus will prevent brain fog and help you accomplish more in a day.

Germanium Essential Oil

Germanium essential oil has a beautiful sweet and floral fragrance. Its wonderful smell comes with a slew of benefits, one of which is improving mental health. It is popular for its ability to evoke a sense of calmness and ease mood swings. This is amazing during stressful times like catching a flight or back to school shopping.

As much as we love summer, the one thing we can’t stand is sunburn. In addition to using a strong sunscreen before you go out in the sun, these essential oils can help sooth your sunburn after you’ve been in the sun for too long. Simply dilute 2% of any of these essential oils in any carrier oil and rub them into your skin.

Helichrysum Essential Oil

Helichrysum Essential Oil is distilled from the helichrysum italicum plant, which was known as the ‘everlasting plant’. This name was bestowed upon it for its amazing skin rejuvenating properties. It has been known to hydrate sun burnt skin and prevent the signs of aging caused by excess sun exposure.

Sandalwood Essential Oil

This is one of my favorite essential oils, not only for its woody and sensual fragrance, but for its amazing health benefits as well. Sandalwood essential oil has been found to sooth and calm irritated skin, which is essential in treating sunburn.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree essential oil is an amazing all rounder when easing sunburn. It has been found to have both anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties ensuring it both calms troubled skin and relieves the pain associated with sunburn.

From camping trips to hikes, I’m sure that you plan to spend the rest of your summer days outdoors. This means that you will be exposed to a lot of bugs and I mean a lot of bugs. These essential oils will ensure that you keep some of those bugs as far away from you as possible. Dilute 3% of any of these essential oils in a carrier oil and place in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture all over your body before stepping out doors.

Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil

The most annoying thing when enjoying the evening summer breeze are mosquitoes. Since the 1940s lemon eucalyptus essential oil has been used as an active ingredient in most natural mosquito repellents. Why not use it to keep mosquitoes at bay this summer?

Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender has such a beautiful and relaxing fragrance. In addition to its calming effects, it acts as an insect repellent, keeping away flies, fleas and mosquitoes. Just in case you do get bit, lavender also has analgesic, antifungal, and antiseptic properties that both reduce the pain of an insect bite and calms your skin.
Citronella Essential Oil

Citronella essential oil is the most commonly used essential oil to keep mosquitoes away. It has been found that when citronella is used in products correctly, it can provide as much protection as chemical mosquito repellents such at DEET. Place a few citronella candles around your camping site or use a citronella spray to keep the mosquitoes away.

With the help of these essential oils you can fit all your summer fun into the last few days of summer. So get out there and enjoy summer.
